Teen Summer Volunteer Program

Thank you for your interest in Seton’s Teen Summer Volunteer Program! We are no longer accepting applications to our 8-week summer program which will run from the week of June 6th to July 31st.

In order to become a teen volunteer for this summer, you must be 15 years old as of June 1st.  This is a hospital policy, and we are unable to make any exceptions. In addition, you must be willing to fully commit to our 8-week program which will run from the week of June 6th to July 31st. We will allow for one week vacation time over the summer.

Teen Volunteer Process

  • Applications will be accepted until March 31
    • Please do not leave any questions blank
    • Applications will only be accepted electronically
    • You will receive an automatic response that your application has been received.
  • Please note applications will be reviewed and evaluated, and if selected, applicant:
    • will be notified by email and invited to a mandatory orientation. (date TBD)
      • No exceptions will be made
    • must provide an official transcript (current, official in a stamped/signed and sealed envelope).
      • If seal is broken, it is no longer considered official.
    • must provide a professional recommendation (non-family, also in a stamped/signed and sealed envelope).
    • must provide required health documentation. (see below)

Health Requirements

Should you be accepted for the summer program, you will be required to submit the following health information:

  • Immunization Records
    • MMR – Measles, Mumps, Rubella (2 shots)
    • Varicella – Chicken Pox (either history of disease or immunization + booster (2 shots))
      • If records cannot be located, a titer – a blood test for concentrations of these immunizations – will need to be performed by the teen’s health care provider
      • Teens are responsible for meeting these requirements via personal health care provider
    • TB Tests
      • A copy of TB screening results done after April 1st, 2016
