Volunteer opportunities are available in both clinical and non-clinical settings. All hospital volunteers receive training from hospital staff to prepare them for their positions. In 1997, the Children’s Hospital of Austin Volunteers began with six volunteers. In 2014, six hundred-seventy plus (670+) volunteers contributed more than 95,500 volunteers hours. This is the equivalent of 46½ full time employees and over $2 million dollars of value added to Dell Children’s Medical Center.

Volunteers provide volunteer assistance to patients, families and staff of Dell Children’s Medical Center of Central Texas, and serve as goodwill ambassadors within the community.

As a member of the Dell Children’s Medical Center Volunteers, you will be invited to participate in various community activities. Volunteers commit to a minimum of one four-hour-a-week shift in a chosen department of the hospital.
