Longtime supporters Nyle and Nancy Maxwell have announced a challenge gift of $3 million to help inspire others to give in order to open a comprehensive inpatient unit for children and teens with mental health needs.
Their challenge is to raise 1:1 funds in order to reach the goal of $6 million.
The Grace Grego Maxwell Mental Health Unit at Dell Children’s, named after Nyle’s mother, will provide comprehensive mental health services. Child and adolescent psychiatrists and psychologists can treat conditions like eating disorders, obsessive-compulsive disorder, depression and post-traumatic stress disorder. Once finished, the unit will include:
- An in-patient unit with 24 beds
- An outpatient program of Dell Children’s in partnership with The University of Texas, Texas Child Study Center
- Intensive outpatient program
