Become a Community Partner

Our Kids in Cars program works with organizations who may be interested in providing child passenger safety services in their local community. We invite organizations in Bastrop, Caldwell, Hays, Travis and Williamson counties to partner with us. The purpose of this partnership is to grow a certified child passenger safety technician workforce in these areas, expand permanent car seat inspection station locations and share educational information to community caregivers. Ideal partnerships include but are not limited to: local fire, police, EMS services, headstarts, WIC offices, hospitals and community health clinics.

Kids in Cars recognizes that each organization is unique. Through our three partnership levels, we make it possible for organizations with different capacities, abilities, and resources to provide child passenger safety services to their community. All of our partners receive assistance from our experts, training, and resources.

Our three partner levels:

Level I: An organization that will provide resources to the families they work with in their local community. Level I partner activity may include distributing information, and up to 2 planned Kids in Cars operated car seat check-up events each year.

Level II: An organization with a minimum of one certified child passenger safety technician on staff. Level II partner activity may include hosting informational events and offering car seat check-ups for families in their community on an as needed basis, supported by Kids in Cars resources.

Level III: An organization with a minimum of two certified technicians on staff. Level III partner activity may include informational events and partner operated monthly car seat check-up events supported by Kids in Cars resources.
