Project Coordinator Senior, Texas Center for the Prevention and Treatment of Childhood Obesity, Dell Children’s Medical Center of Central Texas

Cherelle is a Project Coordinator for the Texas Center for the Prevention and Treatment of Childhood Obesity (TCPTCO). She networks with local community organizations, businesses and primary care physicians to gain partnerships. She also assists in the enhancement of current programs, as well as the creation of new opportunities with TCPTCO. At Dell Children’s Medical Center of Central Texas (DCMC), she serves as the coordinator for the Healthy Hospital Committee, which creates activities and programs to encourage healthy lifestyles for the DCMC employees, patients, and visitors.

An Austin native, Cherelle graduated from Texas Lutheran University in Seguin, Texas with a Bachelor of Science in Exercise Physiology and Biology. She went on to earn her Masters of Education in Exercise Science at Texas State University, San Marcos. While there, she completed a study titled ‘The Effect of Environmental Factors and Socioeconomic Status on Body Mass Index, and Physical Activity in a Sample of Adolescents from Austin, Texas’.

Cherelle brings her experience in research and education from serving as an Adjunct Professor of Health and Kinesiology at Austin Community College. She is also active in the community, partnering with local organizations to provide opportunities for individuals to gain health education. She is very excited to share her passion for health and fitness through working with Texas Center for the Prevention and Treatment of Childhood Obesity.

Outside of work, Cherelle enjoys all things Austin, including running, live music, farmers markets, and hiking on the Greenbelt with her daughter, Ryleigh.
