Low Dose CT Scanner

Dell Children’s Medical Center is proud to offer a low dose CT scanner. The Revolution CT by General Electric allows for almost instant diagnostic scans. This means faster results and more detailed images in situations where seconds count. Doctors can get an accurate diagnosis more quickly, which is important in trauma situations, and it gives off less radiation. We’re the first pediatric hospital in Texas to provide this new technology for our littlest patients.

The Low Dose Difference

The new scanner can take a complete head scan in just half a second, and an angiogram in .28 seconds. A traditional CT scan can take 15 seconds or more, and usually that kids be sedated and hold their breath.

Finally, the new scanner is surrounded by a kid-friendly environment: beautiful murals that create a magical underwater world, helping kids feel more like they’re experiencing an adventure than having a medical procedure.
