Inflammatory Bowel Disease

Inflammatory Bowel Disease

Inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) is an immune mediated inflammation of the intestines which can afflict pediatric patients. Although most IBD in children is treated with medicines, some children require surgical care for complex disease. Our team is committed to the care of children with IBD. We offer advanced treatments using minimally invasive techniques, such as laparoscopic ileocecectomy for Crohn’s disease and laparoscopic colectomy with ileoanal pouch reconstruction for patients with ulcerative colitis. We work as a multi-disciplinary team with your gastroenterologist and other involved specialists to ensure you and your children receive the best care we can provide. We offer a team of surgeons with a particular interest in IBD and advanced skills in the use of minimally invasive techniques for the surgical management of inflammatory bowel disease. This team is led by Dr. Jessica Naiditch, and includes Dr. Jeff Horowitz, Dr. Tory Meyer and Dr. Mike Josephs.
