My Passion for Healthcare

I grew up in Carrizo Springs, a small town in SW Texas. My parents were the town physicians, and I learned early on about the importance of a trusted patient-physician relationship. As a teen, I worked as a counselor at a camp for children with special needs. This inspired me to choose pediatrics. I pursued a fellowship in allergy & immunology as the field allowed me to build long-term relationships with my patients and provide care that can significantly impact their quality of life. Food allergy is a passion, and just happens to draw upon my love of nutrition and cooking.

Services I Provide

  1. Skin Testing - Food, Environmental
  2. Skin Testing - Medication, Insect Venom
  3. Supervised In-office Food Challenge
  4. Lung Function Testing for Asthma/Cough
  5. Allergen Immunotherapy ("allergy shots")
  6. Food Allergy Patient & Family Education

My Clinical Focus

My clinical focus is the comprehensive care of children with food allergies, including IgE-mediated allergy, eosinophilic gastrointestinal disorders and food-protein induced enterocolitis. My mission is to accurately diagnose and manage food allergies, starting first with a thorough history and examination. Allergy testing and supervised food challenges are important tools used in my practice. I am involved with national food allergy organizations and have experience in research studies investigating treatments for food allergies. I also enjoy managing asthma and environmental allergies.
