Dr. de Wette has volunteered for over 20 years at El Buen Samaritano Health Clinic, which provides medical care for families without health insurance. She also provides medical advice and acts as camp physician every summer at El Ranchito, a nature-immersion camp for children and youth from low-income families. This allows Dr. de Wette to combine her love of kids with her love of the outdoors and exploration and protection of the environment.
Having lived on her husband’s family ranch for over 25 years, she has had the privilege of watching her two children grow up on the ranch. Both children graduated college with degrees involved in the exploration and conservation of nature. Dr. de Wette enjoys hiking, gardening, and observing the birds and other wildlife that make daily life at the ranch a rewarding and relaxing experience. She is also involved in numerous church ministries.
