My Passion for Healthcare

Although I always knew I wanted to be in a helping profession, I fell in love with the fields of psychiatry and pediatrics while in medical school. Child psychiatry allowed me to blend the two disciplines. I have found that there is nothing more gratifying than helping patients and their families over time, which is why I practice mainly in the outpatient clinic. Because I also enjoy teaching, I am excited to be affiliated with the medical school and child psychiatry fellowship program at Dell Medical School and Seton.

Services I Provide

  1. Medication management of childhood mental health concerns
  2. Brief, targeted psychotherapy

My Clinical Focus

I treat a variety of psychiatric issues in children and adolescents, including attention, behavioral, anxiety, and major depressive disorders. Psychotherapy and parent training have been shown to be helpful for many psychiatric issues in children. Therefore, when appropriate I will refer a child and their family to several sessions of targeted psychotherapy or parent training before beginning a medication. I believe that “less is more,” and I try to minimize the number of medications a child is taking to reduce the likelihood of side effects.
