Dr. Perkins has been a member of the Dell Children's Medical Center comprehensive epilepsy program since 2012. He is involved in all aspects epilepsy care, autism assessment and treatment and translational research. In his spare time, he enjoys gardening with his wife and daughter.

My Passion for Healthcare

Career choices are driven by a combination of our internal aspirations and environmental influences. Tragedy struck our family 10 months after the birth of my younger brother, Mike. As a result of a viral illness, he sustained a severe hypoxic brain injury. Observing the developmental difficulties and seizures of my brother was a profound experience. This changed all of our lives and I wanted to do something that might help my brother or others like him.

My Clinical Focus

My practice focuses on children with epilepsy, autism and developmental disorders. I am a full time member of the comprehensive epilepsy program at DCMC and participate in every aspect of epilepsy care for children including: clinical assessment, pre-surgical work up, in hospital epilepsy monitoring, surgical mapping, ketogenic diet, VNS management and coordination with other specialists. I also direct the magnetoencephalography lab which focuses on brain mapping for epilepsy, neurosurgery and research.
