My Passion for Healthcare

I decided I wanted to be a physical therapist when I was in the ninth grade. When I graduated from high school, I went to a community college for two years and then was accepted into P.T. school at Wichita State University my junior year of college. It was a challenge, being so young, but my passion for the profession and for pediatrics helped me persevere. I feel so blessed that I have been in this career for 40 years and it is still exciting to me every day.

My Clinical Focus

My clinical focus is with children who have some type of neurological disorder. I have a certification in Neurodevelopmental Treatment (NDT) in the Management and Treatment of Children with Cerebral Palsy and Other Neuromotor Disorders. I do serial casting to assist in increasing ankle range of motion for improved positioning of the foot and ankle for standing and walking. I work closely with each child and their family to determine equipment needs and provide home exercises, working toward greater independence with functional mobility for home, school and play.
