My Passion for Healthcare

I didn't know much about speech therapy until I got a tour of the Speech and Hearing Clinic at UT Austin, and I was hooked. I enjoyed watching the student clinicians work with children with speech and language deficits, using play and toys and fun activities to improve their communication skills. It was also rewarding to watch the clinicians work with their adult clients to regain their speech after having had strokes or other medical issues. It's been very fulfilling to help children produce their first words, whether they are talking or using a communication device.

Services I Provide

  1. Hanen Program for Speech Delay
  2. Hanen Program for Children with Autism
  3. VitalStim Certification
  4. Speech and Language Disorders
  5. Swallowing Disorders (Dysphagia)
  6. Speech Production/Articulation Disorders
  7. MBS Studies

My Clinical Focus

I love working with toddlers who just need some help getting caught up with their speaking abilities. I also enjoy working with children on the autism spectrum, helping them interact and connect with other people by improving their communication and play skills. I've recently become certified in using VitalStim, (neuromuscular electrical stimulation) to help people with swallowing problems improve their ability to swallow safely, and I'm excited about using this new tool in my therapeutic toolbox to help my patients with swallowing issues.
