My Passion for Healthcare

Ever since childhood I remember being attracted to caring for the sick and injured, like making “house calls” on classmates with whooping cough, or nurturing a snake bit family dog. In grade school I accompanied my neurosurgeon father on hospital rounds and stood on stools to watch surgeries. My first summer job was OR scrub nurse. Medical school rotations and externships confirmed my love of variety in diagnosis and treatment, and for the ongoing relationships with patients of all ages and backgrounds. My Family Practice Residency emphasized such “in breadth” caring for the whole person.

Services I Provide

  1. Care and monitoring of chronic diseases
  2. Coordinating care with other specialists
  3. Assist with/coordinate hospital care
  4. Adult preventative care exams
  5. Children wellness check-ups
  6. Women's health exams
  7. Sports physicals
  8. Care of minor injuries
  9. Suture lacerations; skin biopsies
  10. Provide appropriate patient education

My Clinical Focus

Family Medicine is challenging and satisfying for its variety. Caring for patients from diverse backgrounds with a variety of conditions, illnesses and problems, acute or chronic, is an opportunity to form enduring partnerships. A partnership enrolls and empowers patients and families, provides resources that support their needs. We use specific nutrition, exercise, life style behaviors, that consider people’s culture, language, backgrounds and tastes, to help live more fulfilling lives. Fluency in Spanish has helped me to work towards these goals with an even greater number of patients.
