My Passion for Healthcare

I had a good friend growing up who had been diagnosed with Osteosarcoma and had her leg amputated below her knee. However, neither her diagnosis nor her amputation prevented her from living life to the fullest. I didn’t realize it then, but her friendship and her outlook on life had a huge impact on my life. I knew in Nursing School that I wanted to be a pediatric oncology nurse. However, as a Navy Nurse, you are placed where the greatest patient care needs are for active duty members, their family members and Veterans.

Services I Provide

  2. Assessments

My Clinical Focus

Our team of inpatient Nurse Practitioners evaluates and manages pediatric patients with varying blood disorder and cancer diagnoses. We, along with the Attending Physician and inpatient nursing team, are often the first providers newly diagnosed patients and their families come in contact with. A new diagnosis of a blood disorder or type of cancer can be overwhelming, exhausting and very stressful on the whole family unit.
