Dell Children’s Medical Center and UT Health Austin, the clinical practice of Dell Medical School at The University of Texas at Austin, announce that Michael Bebbington, M.D., M.H.Sc., will serve as co-director of the Comprehensive Fetal Care Center and professor of Dell Med’s Department of Women’s Health. Dr. Bebbington is an internationally-recognized expert in fetal care with more than two decades of experience in fetal surgery. Dr. Bebbington officially joins Dell Children’s in July.
Dr. Bebbington’s expertise includes specialized diagnostic imaging and intrauterine interventions used in the management of complex pregnancies. For the past five years, he has served as director of the Fetal Care Center of Barnes-Jewish Hospital, St. Louis Children’s Hospital and professor at the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Washington University School of Medicine, St. Louis. Dr. Bebbington completed his medical degree at McMaster University in Ontario, as well as his residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology.

The Comprehensive Fetal Care Center will open May 3 in the new Dell Children’s Pavilion. The center will provide coordinated multispecialty care for families and babies identified prenatally with birth abnormalities. The center will also include an 11-bed specialized labor and delivery unit, scheduled to open in July at Dell Children’s Medical Center.
The Comprehensive Fetal Care Center offers diagnostic, treatment, and management of complex and rare fetal conditions, including fetal heart conditions, congenital diaphragmatic hernia, urinary tract conditions, twin-to-twin transfusion syndrome, and neural tube defects, such as spina bifida. Led by Dr. Kenneth Moise, Jr. who has developed fetal centers across the country, our team of experts provide comprehensive, family-centered care to ensure that our patients and their families receive the highest level of specialized care before, during, and after delivery. The Comprehensive Fetal Care Center is the only fetal care center in Central Texas.
