Renewing Your CHIP or STAR Medicaid Coverage

We invite you to continue on as a Dell Children’s Health Plan member as you renew your CHIP or STAR Medicaid coverage.

Your CHIP coverage will need to be renewed every year and your STAR Medicaid/Children’s Medicaid coverage may need to be renewed every year. Here are two easy ways to renew:

  1. Renew online. Choose “Manage your account or application.”
  2. By mail. About two months before it is time to renew, the Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) will send you a letter and some paperwork to fill out. Complete the form and mail it back as soon as possible. If you miss the deadline, you will lose coverage, and you will have to start a new application again.
