Dr. Karen Keough earned a Bachelor of Science in Psychology at the College of William and Mary in Williamsburg, Virginia and studied Molecular Biology at Hood College in Frederick, Maryland. She earned her medical degree from Johns Hopkins University of Medicine. She completed her pediatrics residency at Wilford Hall USAF Medical Center where she then served for one year as Chief of Pediatric Residents. She then trained in Pediatric Neurology at Duke University. After three years in the Air Force as a Child Neurologist, she moved to Baylor University School of Medicine for a year-long fellowship in Neurophysiology and Epilepsy. Dr. Keough came to Dell Children’s Medical Center in 2006 from Wilford Hall Medical Center, where she served as Director of Epilepsy Services and Chief of Child Neurology. She manages refractory epilepsy patients including surgical workup and intracranial monitoring.
