Accidental injuries are the leading cause of death and serious injury to children 14 and under. Most childhood injuries can be easily prevented by taking simple steps to use safety equipment and provide close supervision.
Children who meet age, height, and weight requirements can receive a booster seat.
Booster seats are primarily for children age 4 and up. Children younger than 4 are recommended to use a car seat with a harness.

The Texas Injury Prevention Leadership Collaborative initiative began in 2016 with a focus on organizing innovative training opportunities to enhance the leadership abilities of injury prevention professionals across the state. Through trainings and meetings, the Collaborative endeavors to create safe spaces for discovery and to build upon the collective wisdom of injury prevention professionals.
