CBCC’s New Appointment and Cancellation Polices

Clapboard 01The provider team is committed to providing the highest level of care to all patients and families.  We are occasionally delayed by emergencies and prolonged appointments with patients who are experiencing problems.  We will make every effort to be on time or keep you fully informed when there is a wait.

Appointment Policies
The physicians and staff at the Children’s Blood and Cancer Center respect your time and do their best to stay on schedule.  Please help us to stay on time by arriving 30 minutes before your first visit and 15 minutes before all other visits in order to complete and update your registration information.

Appointment Cancellation Policy

If you are unable to keep your appointment, you are required to call us at least 24 hours in advance so we may offer your time to another patient.  Please call 512-628-1900

Late for Appointment

For the benefit of all our patients, our physicians feel it is important to stay on schedule.  Please be advised that if you are late for your appointment by more than 15 minutes, you may be asked to wait until another provider can see your child.  You may be asked to reschedule for another date.

Call ahead if you are running late.  We will do all that we can to accommodate your child’s appointment.  However, multiple late occurrences could result in discharge from the practice.

Patients who have arrived on time will be seen ahead of those who arrive late.

No Show Policy

A “no-show”, is a patient who misses an appointment without cancelling it.

Due to the increasing number of missed appointments, we have found ourselves having to manage this problem without upsetting the delicate relationship that we have with our patients.  This problem not only affects the quality and safety of care that we provide but also makes it incredibly difficult to schedule prompt and convenient appointments times for both existing and new patients.  The following will occur for no-show’s:

  • For the first no show, a letter will be mailed and a phone call made to you.
  • For the second no show, a certified letter will be mailed. This letter states that is your second consecutive missed appointment and to please call us.
  • The third no show, a certified letter will be mailed to you and your referring doctor terminating you from our care.
