Thanks for your interest in our clinic! We’d love to work with you as you strive to lead a healthier happier life. Change is usually challenging and that is why we have assembled an expert team to help you and your family find success. We want to make sure that our clinic is what you’re looking for so please read on.
Once we receive your completed pre-packet and referral from your Primary Care Provider we will schedule a new patient appointment At the initial consultation visit you will meet Dr. Pont or Farrell and one of our mental health/behavior change experts. They will provide a comprehensive evaluation, assessment and order any additional labs and studies that will be helpful when developing your treatment plan. We will then schedule you for a return visit in a few weeks following the initial visit. At the first follow-up visit you will review your lab work with Dr. Pont or Farrell and will also work with additional members of our team, including our dietitian, physical therapist and social worker.
Follow-up visits will then be set depending upon your needs, usually every 1-2 months. Our visits are longer than a typical visit to the doctor or dietitian, because we have multiple team members who work with you to develop the best possible plan. Making healthy changes is a gradual process and will take some time, but we are committed to working with you to find success.
Clinic Visit
Clinic visits are conducted at the Specialty Care Center at Dell Children’s Medical Center. During the first visit, patients are seen and evaluated by Dr. Pont or Farrell and a licensed counseling social worker. Our child psychologist is available for consultation and individual counseling as needed.
During follow-up appointments patients and their families see Dr. Pont or Farrell and the additional team members for personalized evaluation and treatment. Depending upon the needs of the family and patient, visits may last up to 3 hours.
Attire
Please bring your child dressed in light gym shorts as well as a light t-shirt for their appointment.

Specialty Care Center, located on the 2nd floor of the Dell Children’s Medical Center of Central Texas, 4900 Mueller Blvd., Austin, TX 78723. Please park in Out Patient Parking, in the parking lot on the South-East side of Dell Children’s.
