Joseph Forbess, M.D. - Program Director, Regional Heart Program
Dr. Joseph Forbess is Professor and Chairman of the Division of Pediatric Cardiothoracic Surgery at UT Southwestern Medical Center. He is Co-Director of the Heart Center at Children's Medical Center Dallas and holds the Pogue Distinguished Chair in Pediatric Cardiac Surgery Research.
Dr. Forbess graduated from Harvard Medical School and completed his surgical internship and residency and thoracic surgical fellowship at Duke University Medical Center. He completed his post-graduate training with a research fellowship in the Department of Cardiovascular Surgery at Children's Hospital in Boston, MA. He is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and the American College of Cardiology. Dr. Forbess is a member of several associations and societies including the American Association for Thoracic Surgery, the Society of Thoracic Surgeons, and the Southern Thoracic Surgical Association. He is a founding member of the World Society for Pediatric and Congenital Heart Surgery and is the Program Director for the Regional Heart Program at Dell Children's.

Kenneth Fox, M.D. - Medical Director, Cardiac Surgery
Dr. Kenneth Fox earned his medical degree from the University of Illinois in Chicago. He completed his general surgery residency and National Institute of Health research fellowship at the University of Arizona in Tucson and his residency in thoracic surgery at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. Dr. Fox went on to complete a fellowship in pediatric cardiovascular surgery at C.S. Mott Children's Hospital at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. He has practiced with Cardiothoracic and Vascular Surgeons since 2001. He is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. Dr. Fox is an active member of the John Alexander Society, Society of Thoracic Surgeons, American Medical Association, Texas Medical Association and Travis County Medical Society. He is the Medical Director of Cardiac Surgery at Dell Children's. Dr. Fox is board-certified in general surgery, thoracic surgery and congenital cardiac surgery.

Kristine Guleserian, M.D.
Kristine Guleserian, MD, is the Surgical Director of Pediatric Transplantation at Children's Medical Center Dallas, Assistant Professor in the Division of Pediatric Cardiothoracic Surgery, and Associate Program Director of the Thoracic Surgery Residency at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center at Dallas.
Dr. Guleserian earned her A.B. in the Classics from Harvard College and completed medical school at Boston University School of Medicine. She completed her general surgical residency at Brown University School of Medicine/Department of Surgery, where she also was Executive Chief Resident. She has completed fellowships in cardiothoracic surgery at Barnes-Jewish Hospital/Washington University School of Medicine as well as in congenital heart surgery at Children's Hospital Boston/Harvard Medical School. She has been performing pediatric cardiothoracic surgery at Children's Medical Center since 2005.
Dr. Guleserian's research interests are varied and focus on pediatric heart transplantation, ventricular assist devices, tissue-engineering, minimally invasive cardiothoracic surgery, and thoracic surgery resident education. She is an active member of the Society of Thoracic Surgeons, the International Society of Heart and Lung Transplantation, and on the Executive Board of Women in Thoracic Surgery. She is also a founding member of the World Society for Pediatric and Congenital Heart Surgery. Along with numerous articles in peer-reviewed publications, she has been featured in the media for her work in pediatric cardiovascular surgery.
