Plastic Surgery

Steven L. Henry, MD

Bio

Dr. Henry completed his residency in plastic surgery at the University of Missouri, followed by two fellowships: one in hand surgery at the Hand Center of San Antonio, and the other in reconstructive microsurgery at Chang Gung Memorial Hospital in Taiwan. He has expertise in all aspects of hand surgery, including conditions both acute, such as fractures and tendon injuries, and chronic, such as arthritis and carpal tunnel syndrome.

Dr. Henry is also a highly trained microvascular surgeon, with substantial experience in post-oncologic reconstruction of the head/neck and breast, reconstruction of the lower extremity, and reattachment of limbs and digits. In addition to his clinical practice, Dr. Henry is also very active academically, having contributed 30 scientific articles and book chapters to the plastic surgery literature. He has presented his research at many regional, national, and international meetings, and continues to collaborate on numerous research projects with colleagues from around the world.

Sanjay K. Sharma, MD, FACS

Bio

Dr. Sharma is a plastic surgeon specializing in hand and microsurgery and certified by both the American Board of Plastic Surgery and the American Board of Plastic Surgery/Hand. He completed his undergraduate studies at Washington University in St. Louis where he majored in chemistry and biochemistry. He graduated magna cum laude in 1992 and entered medical school at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston that same year. He has had the luxury and benefit of training at preeminent institutions with some of this country's most renowned surgeons.

The Texas Medical Center served as the backdrop for Dr. Sharma's combined general surgery and plastic surgery training at Baylor College of Medicine. The broad scope of training included extensive experience in aesthetic surgery, breast reconstruction and augmentation, congenital and pediatric plastic surgery, trauma reconstruction, and hand and microsurgery. An additional one year orthopedic hand surgery fellowship at the University of Washington Department of Orthopedics and Sports Medicine further developed his skills as a hand surgeon.
