In partnership with the Lance Armstrong Foundation, the LIVESTRONG Survivorship Center has been established to improve the health and well-being of childhood cancer survivors by promoting adherence to a schedule of followup appointments; providing referrals to specialists; offering psychosocial support groups; transitioning patients to adult care when they are ready; and educating patients, parents and healthcare professionals about the long-term effects of cancer treatment.

Since 1996, Dell Children’s Medical Center (formerly Children's Hospital of Austin) has been accredited by the American College of Surgeons’ Commission on Cancer. In March 2003, the SETON Network (which includes Dell Children’s Medical Center) became the first cancer program in Texas and the seventh in the nation to receive approval as a Network Cancer Program by the Commission on Cancer of the American College of Surgeons. Our cancer program was most recently re-accredited in April 2008.

"Approval by the Commission on Cancer is given only to those facilities that have voluntarily committed to provide the best in diagnosis and treatment of cancer and to undergo a rigorous evaluation process and review of its performance."
