Who We Are
The Complex Chronic Illness Parent Advisory Group (CChIPAG) was created, under the auspice of DCMC Palliative Care, in the spring of 2008. Its original mission was to give feedback on issues faced by families whose children live with complex chronic conditions. The group has expanded its mission by working to address these same issues. Current projects include the CChIPAG Resource Guide for Families (Due to be complete August of 2010) and the Respite Survey—an ongoing survey to gather information regarding the need for Respite Services for families of children with complex chronic conditions. CChIPAG understands that these children live within families, and that those families live within communities. Because of this, CChIPAG’s future efforts will continue to emphasize community involvement and collaboration to best provide support and coordinated care for these children and their families.
Guide for Children with Special Needs
The Complex Chronic Illness Parent Advisory Group exists to enhance and strengthen existing supports for children with Complex Chronic Illness, and their families, and to identify and address areas where support is needed. We will work collaboratively with Dell Children’s Medical Center, DCMC Palliative Care, and the broader community, to be an ongoing force, that creates a unified voice, for the many unheard that we represent.
