Annual Pediatric Conference

Keeping Central Texas Children Well — See you on April 21, 2012

Dell Children's Medical Center of Central Texas hosts an Annual Pediatric Conference focusing on the health and well-being of the children of Central Texas. This conference brings together diverse Central Texas healthcare professionals in comfortable surroundings to discuss important healthcare topics.

The 2012 conference will focus on the cutting edge communication of health and well-being of the children of Central Texas. In addition to featuring updates on pediatric topics, the conference will highlight important public health issues affecting the children of our community and also the importance of open communication between the community and the hospital.  This conference will provide 7.25 CME credits.

At the end of the conference, participants will be able to:

  • recall the pediatric issues and practices addressed in the conference activities
  • integrate presented pediatric diagnostics and therapeutics into the office practice
  • evaluate the approach and management of current issues from multidisciplinary and interprofessional perspectives
  • describe how collaborative partnerships among community practices, subspecialty practices, pediatric education programs, and hospital services translate into high quality and safe patient-centered care across disciplines and settings

Target Audience
The primary target audience members are the primary care pediatric and family medicine practitioners. Secondary target audience members include pediatric subspecialty and surgical physicians, nurses and nurse practitioners, resident physicians, and medical and nursing students.

Teaching Methods
The program will consist of live concise lectures and workshops.  A question and answer session will follow each session. Handout materials will be provided and archived on the conference website.

Accreditation
This activity has been planned and implemented in accordance with the Essential Areas and Policies of the Texas Medical Association (TMA) through the joint sponsorship of Seton Family of Hospitals, the University of Texas Southwestern Austin Pediatrics, and the Physician Practices at the Strictly Pediatrics Subspecialty Center. The Seton Family of Hospitals is accredited by the TMA to provide continuing medical education for physicians.
