Pediatric Residency Associate Director/Ambulatory Director
Anthony C. Kimbrough, M.D.
Dr. Kimbrough earned a B.A. from the University of Texas at Austin and completed his medical school training at the University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston. He completed a rotating internship at John Peter Smith Hospital in Forth Worth, Texas and a Pediatric Residency at the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio, Texas. He joined the Austin Pediatric Education Program in 1980 as the Director of Ambulatory Care, and has served as the Associate Director/Ambulatory Director since 1985.
Outpatient Faculty
Marilyn Doyle, MD
Dr. Doyle completed a B.A. in Biology from Oberlin College in Ohio prior to attending medical school at the University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston. Her postgraduate training included an internship and residency in Pediatrics, as well as a fellowship in Pediatric Infectious Disease, at the University of Texas Medical School at Houston. Prior to joining the ambulatory faculty in Austin in 2003, she was a faculty member in Pediatrics at the University of Texas Medical School at Houston and did extensive clinical work and research in Pediatric HIV infection. She currently serves as Medical Director for the Mobile HealthCare Van, a mobile Seton Clinic which provides primary healthcare to the underserved children of Austin.
Michelle Gallas, D.O.
Dr. Gallas joined the ambulatory faculty in 2006. She earned a B.A. from Rutgers University and received her medical school training at UMDNJ-School of Osteopathic Medicine in Stratford, New Jersey. She completed her residency training in Pediatrics at Newark Beth Israel Medical Center in Newark, New Jersey, where she also served as a Chief Resident.
Celia Neavel, MD
Dr. Neavel earned a B.A. from the University of Texas at Austin and completed her medical education at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas. She pursued her postgraduate training at the University of Cincinnati, completing an internship in Psychiatry and a residency in Family Medicine. She completed her fellowship in Adolescent Medicine and Developmental Disorders at Children’s Hospital Medical Center in Cincinnati, Ohio. She currently serves as Director of the Center for Adolescent Health at People’s Community Clinic and since joining the ambulatory faculty in 1994, has supervised residents during their Adolescent and Development rotations.
Stephen J. Pont, MD, MPH
Dr. Pont joined the ambulatory faculty in the summer of 2008. He earned a B.A. from the University of Texas at Austin and attended medical school at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School in Dallas, TX. Dr. Pont completed his pediatric residency training at Arkansas Children’s Hospital / University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences, Little Rock, AR and then completed an academic general pediatrics fellowship at Vanderbilt University Medical Center, Nashville, TN, where he also received his M.P.H. Dr. Pont’s interests include underserved populations and childhood obesity.
Roberto Rodriguez, MD, MPH
Dr. Rodriguez joined the ambulatory faculty in 2006. He earned a B.A. from the University of Texas at Austin and completed his medical training at the University of California, San Francisco School of Medicine in San Francisco, California. He received his residency training at The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and also received an M.P.H. from the University of California, Los Angeles, through the Robert Wood Johnson Clinical Scholars Program.
