Pediatric Residency Program
Outpatient

The majority of the residents' outpatient experience involves work at one of Austin's main community clinics. Residents complete multiple rotations at East Austin Clinic, which serves a large section of the Medicaid and indigent population of central and east Austin. Senior residents have additional outpatient exposure during their required subspecialty months. Further community experiences are available during both the Adolescent and Development rotations, where residents explore many local community resources important to children's health.

Residents also work ½ to 1 day per week at their continuity clinic, either in a city clinic or a private office. Residents work with the same preceptor or clinic throughout their three years of training. This continuity clinic experience allows residents to develop a working relationship with a general pediatrician preceptor and a cohort of children and their families.
