Welcome to the University of Texas Medical Branch (UTMB) at Austin Pediatric Residency program. Our program provides extensive pediatric training that prepares graduates for both primary and subspecialty pediatric fields. The program’s curriculum emphasizes the achievement of skills and competencies needed to provide comprehensive care to children, ranging from health supervision to complex, critical conditions. Under the direct supervision of the faculty, residents develop their clinical skills with an increasing level of practice autonomy. The program includes 15 residents per year, two 4th Year Chiefs and one 3rd Year Chief.
On June 30th, 2007, the program made an exciting transition to our new facility, Dell Children’s Medical Center of Central Texas, a member of the Seton Family of Hospitals. Dell Children’s is the only hospital in Central Texas dedicated to the care of children and serves as a regional care center for a 46-county service area. Residents play a vital role in Dell Children’s mission to be a center of excellence for the children of Central Texas.
