Dilip J. Karnik, M.D.
'Specially For Children

A practicing neurologist in Austin, Texas for 26 years, Dilip J. Karnik, M.D. founded the pediatric neurology sub-specialty in the Austin area. Currently he is the Medical Director for Pediatric Neurology with 'Specially for Children as well as the Dell Children's Medical Center of Central Texas. Additionally, Dr. Karnik is an Adjunct Associate Professor at the University of Texas at Austin and serves as the Medical Director for Starbright Pediatric Rehabilitation Programs. He completed his Pediatric Neurology Fellowship at the State University of New York and served as the Chief Resident for this facility. Dr. Karnik completed his pediatric training at Rutgers Medical School in New Jersey as well as Grant Medical College in Bombay, India. Dr. Karnik has an American Board Certification in Psychiatry and Neurology with special qualifications in child neurology. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatrics. Dr. Karnik has chaired many medical CME conferences and is a sought-after speaker both nationally and internationally. He has been selected, on numerous occasions, as Best Speaker for various events/conferences. Dr. Karnik has received teaching awards from various residency programs.

Ann Levine, Psy.D.
Texas Child Study Center

Dr. Levine, a neuropsychologist, completed her Psy.D. at the University of Denver. She completed her fellowship in autism at the School of Medicine in the Department of Psychiatry at the University of North Carolina and completed a fellowship in pediatric neuropsychology at the New England Medical Center at Tufts University School of Medicine. Dr. Levine first worked with children with autism spectrum disorders and their families at the Yale Child Study Center. Since then she has worked in psychiatric inpatient facilities, academic medical centers, managed care organizations, and in both public and private schools, helping medically fragile children and those with psychiatric difficulties, learning difficulties, and developmental disabilities. Prior to joining the faculty at the Texas Child Study Center, she was a supervising neuropsychologist at the University of Washington's Autism Center. Dr. Levine specializes in early identification of children with Autism, using parent- and child-focused interventions to help young autistic children expand their skills and to decrease anxiety and depression in adolescents.

William C. Streusand, M.D.
Medical Director
Texas Child Study Center

A psychiatrist in private practice since 1985, Dr. Streusand, Dell Children's Medical Center Chief of Psychiatry, has led the consultation/liaison psychiatry service at the former Children's Hospital of Austin and at Dell Children's since 2002. He also served on the faculty of Baylor College of Medicine and now with The University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston, UT Southwestern Austin and UT Austin. He was Unit Director of several child and adolescent inpatient units and intensive outpatient programs in Houston and served as President of the medical staff of two psychiatric facilities. A Houston native, Dr. Streusand completed his undergraduate training in biology at Washington University. He completed medical school, general psychiatry residency and child and adolescent psychiatry fellowship at Baylor College of Medicine.

Mindy L. Granberry, M.A., CCC-SLP
Speech Language Pathologist
Dell Children's Medical Center

Mindy is a pediatric speech language pathologist. She received her undergraduate degree from Texas A&M University a master's degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders from San Diego State University. She completed her Clinical Fellowship Year at SHARP Hospitals in San Diego, California. Mindy worked for Project HOPE in Turkey for one year establishing a speech therapy department and partnering with universities and hospitals for sustainable education and training. She was a charter member of Children's Care Connection at San Diego Children's Hospital, a grant-funded developmental assessment and parent education program. Mindy worked as a clinical supervisor for three years at the University of Texas Speech and Hearing Center master's degree program. Currently, Mindy works as a speech language pathologist at Dell Children's Medical Center providing comprehensive diagnostic evaluation and treatment of speech, language, cognitive, swallowing, and social communication disorders. She participates in the Developmental Assessment Program and is a member of the SHARE Team. Mindy has worked with children with Autism over the course of her career. She strongly believes in a multi-disciplinary approach with familycentered care as the core principle.

Emily Rasco, O.T.R.
Dell Children's Medical Center of Central Texas

Emily is a pediatric occupational therapist. She received a Bachelor of Science in Health Sciences from Texas Tech University and her master's in Occupational Therapy from Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center in Lubbock, Texas. Emily volunteered for Court Appointed Special Advocates, CASA, providing mentorship and advocacy for children in the foster care system. Currently, Emily is an outpatient occupational therapist at Dell Children's Medical Center of Central Texas and provides comprehensive diagnostic evaluation and treatment for delays in activities of daily living, fine motor skills, visual motor skills, feeding, social interaction, play and sensory processing. She is currently involved in the Developmental Assessment Program, providing comprehensive evaluations and recommendations for children with autism spectrum disorders and developmental delays. Emily's special interests include autism spectrum disorders and sensory integration.

Mark O 'Reilly, Ph.D., BCBA-D, C.Psychol.
The University of Texas at Austin

A native of Ireland, Mark O'Reilly joined the Department of Special Education in 2002. He currently coordinates the graduate training programs in Autism and developmental disability. Program coursework is preapproved by the Behavior Analysis Certification Board. He is interested in the design, implementation, and evaluation of evidence-based and culturally sensitive services for students with Autism and related developmental and physical disabilities, and their families.

Jane Ripperger-Suhler, M.D.
Texas Child Study Center

Dr. Ripperger-Suhler is a child and adolescent psychiatrist. She completed her undergraduate training in biochemistry and molecular biology at the University of Colorado and earned a master's degree in nutrition at the University of Texas at Austin. She completed her medical degree at Texas Tech University and both general psychiatry residency and child and adolescent psychiatry fellowship training at the University of Arizona. Dr. Ripperger- Suhler worked for nearly ten years evaluating and treating children in the Scott and White Mental Health Clinics in Temple and Round Rock and was the Co-Director of the Central Texas Autism Spectrum Disorders Clinic. She was also active in providing training for young doctors in general and child and adolescent psychiatry. At Seton Family of Hospitals, Dr. Ripperger- Suhler now continues her educational work as Associate Training Director in psychiatry. In addition she has an outpatient clinical practice at the Texas Child Study Center where she provides assessment and treatment of children with a variety of behavioral, emotional, thought, or social problems especially children with autism spectrum disorders. She is committed to providing help to families affected by autism spectrum disorders through assessment, treatment, education, research, and advocacy.
