Dr. Jeff Horwitz is a native Houstonian. He graduated from the University of Texas and recieved his MD degree from UTMB in Galveston.

Following medical school Dr. Horwitz completed a General Surgery residency at the Medical College of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia. He returned to Houston for a fellowship in Surgical Critical Care and ECMO at the University of Texas Medical School. Dr. Horwitz then moved to New Haven, Connecticut where he completed a fellowship in Pediatric Surgery at Yale University under Dr. Robert Touloukian.

Dr. Horwitz is board certified in Pediatric Surgery, Surgical Critical Care and General Surgery.
