AUSTIN, TX - (May 22, 2010) - For three years, the walls of the tunnel connecting Dell Children's Medical Center of Central Texas, a member of the Seton Family of Hospitals, to the Strictly Pediatrics building have been sterile and bare. They came alive on Saturday, May 22 as the artists (local students!), their families and Dell Children's volunteers unveiled the creative artwork that now cover the walls of the tunnel.
The Tunnel Art Project was a year in the making. More than 100 pictures line the walls in various-themed picture windows.

"This tunnel art project has been a wonderful collaboration
between Dell Children's volunteers, staff, and most
importantly, the talented, hard-working student-artists who
created the beautiful artwork," explains Marilyn Bostick,
Director of Volunteer Services for Dell Children's. "It was
truly a community effort."
Words like "Kindness", "Love" and "Hope" are also painted on the walls in different languages to reflect the diversity of patients who are treated at the hospital.
Home Depot donated the paint and labor.
Students from Oak Hill Elementary, Murchison Middle School, Fulmore Middle School, Regents School of Austin, Live Oak Elementary School and Valley View Elementary all contributed artwork to the tunnel project.
